Whenever I chance upon a well-manicured lawn, be it in public or private spaces, I walk around barefooted. I learnt it even has a name, grounding or earthing. I define it as “walking barefooted in nature and soaking up the earth’s healing powers.”
In reality, this practice is nothing new to me. It’s a connection to a childhood that allowed us to flourish as one with nature. A day spent indoors was torture. We woke up early or late and rode bikes, climbed trees, rolled in the grass, and jumped in muddy paddles. When the parents prohibited it, we did it! By running, jumping and playing barefooted in the grass, mud or whatever the weather decided, we unknowingly provided healing to our future selves.
Be a duck; take a walk.
